Julie Proctor - President
Julie is a founding member of FSM and the current president of the Board. She has a passion for reaching the poor, oppressed and the lost. Her love for missions began with a short-term mission trip to Volcan, Panama in 1999 where she assisted with a free medical clinic. With a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a sincere love for those in need, she has since been involved with numerous mission trips to both Central and South America.
Catherine Duffy – Treasurer
Catherine is a founding member of FSM and serves currently as our treasurer. She is recently retired from a distinguished career as a health care executive in Nashville, TN. Her passion is for the women of Bajo in Costa Rica, she coordinates the women’s Christmas parties and works with the women’s sewing ministry, in addition to her board responsibilities.
Cheryl Bradford – Secretary
Cheryl is a founding member of FSM and is very active in the day to day running of the organization. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Master’s degree in Social Work and is a licensed clinical social worker. During her career, she specialized in the medical field, working in both hospitals and home health care. Cheryl participates in many church outreach and mission programs and is a member of Beach United Methodist Church.
Gary, a Board Certified General and Forensic Psychiatrist, is one of the founding members and a past president of FSM. He and his family moved to Costa Rica for 7 months during the start-up phase for the FSM project in Bajo Tejares. He has been heavily involved in overseas missions for over 15 years providing general medical services in Belize, Panama and Guatemala. He has also assisted with construction and VBS projects in Chile, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. He and his wife Julie are very passionate about missions, especially reaching disadvantaged children.
Gena comes to FSM with a strong background in business and fundraising. She spends much of her time volunteering at her church and her children’s schools, while also assisting various charitable organizations with fundraising. Helping people who are less fortunate is a value she wants to firmly instill in her family, so she is a strong supporter of our family mission trips. Gena sees missions as an opportunity to build relationships that can lead to Christ-filled lives.
James has served as the President of the FSM Costa Rica Association and on the Board of Founders for FSM Panama. He is from Jacksonville, North Carolina, where he owned and operated a construction business for 35 years. James has served in overseas missions for 11 years with the last 5 years as a fulltime missionary residing in Costa Rica. He and his wife Kay have a heart for missions and are especially passionate about feeding disadvantaged children and working with orphans. They travel to our Panama mission frequently to oversee the food distribution program there.
Ashley has been involved with missions through her church since her high school days in student ministry. After taking several trips to Costa Rica and seeing the work that FSM was doing there, she became committed to loving and serving the people of Bajo Tejares. In 2012, Ashley and her husband Andrew moved to Costa Rica to serve as full time missionaries with FSM. After an incredible 18 month experience there, they returned to the US to start a family. In August 2015, their baby girl Ruth was born and welcomed into the FSM family as the newest and tiniest missionary on our team!
Lynn has worked in many capacities in her church, outreach ministries as well as mission programs. Her love and experience in working with children and youth is demonstrated in her commitment to the ministries of FSM. She frequently travels to Costa Rica and Panama to serve in the food distribution program.
Robin’s in-laws and oldest son fell in love with Faithful Servant Missions and introduced her to their passion in serving the beautiful people in Bajo. During her stint as youth minister she hosted several youth teams to Costa Rica. Robin’s love for God has shown through in her encouraging and inspiring as many people as possible to serve those that are hungry, homeless and in need of the hope of Jesus. Robin’s other passion is mentoring, coaching and discipling young women in the Christian faith and in becoming liberating leaders in their spheres of influence.
Wayne was raised in the United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida, and was active in the United Methodist Youth Fellowship. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, and then moved to St. Louis, Missouri to work in the chemical industry. While there, Wayne earned master’s degrees in both chemical engineering and business administration. Wayne and Debbi moved to South Carolina in 1986 and continue to reside there. Over the last 25 years in South Carolina, Wayne has volunteered in student ministry and led several student-based mission trips to FSM Costa Rica.
During a career in banking and real estate finance, Al volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in the Jacksonville, Florida area, and was involved through the United Methodist Church with disaster relief and mission projects in The Bahamas. In retirement, Al not only continues to help build houses with Nassau County Habitat for Humanity, but also enjoys the opportunity to apply his experience and spiritual gifts to advance the vision of Faithful Servant Missions to improve the physical, spiritual, and educational health of those we serve in Costa Rica and Panama.
