Meet the Morris Family

The story of Larry and Meg Morris

After much prayer and consideration, Faithful Servant Missions is excited to announce that we have found the Campus Director that we have been seeking for the last few years! All in God’s timing! We would like to introduce you to the Morris family, Larry & Meg along with their three children, Molly, Lawson, and Logan.

In 1991, Larry embarked with an evangelical team from North Carolina on his first short-term mission trip. Serving in Honduras, they helped the locals construct a medical clinic in the small mountain village of El Portillo and shared the Gospel in both word and deed, seeing many give their lives to Jesus Christ.

After a few years and many mission teams later, Larry and team mate, Dan Downing formed LAMP (Latin America Mission Project), and both served full-time in Costa Rica and Honduras with their wives and children.

Since Larry and his wife Meg returned to the states, they have held a deep and passionate desire to return to Central America as missionaries. However, God clearly kept that dream on hold. Larry worked for several years with MAP International, where he gained invaluable education and experience in the best practices for community health development and poverty alleviation. Meg, in addition to being a full-time mom to three active kids, has worked with the local health department and will soon be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

Early in 2016, Dan, their former ministry partner contacted them about Faithful Servant Missions (FSM), a Jacksonville, FL, based Christian organization. FSM was interested in having a missionary for their San Ramon, Costa Rica campus. They were seeking someone to direct their ministry center in Bajo Tejares, an impoverished community of mostly Nicaraguans. FSM also has a ministry site inPlaza de Caisán, Panama that ministers to the indigenous Ngobe-Bugle Indians, which would benefit from Larry’s expertise.

Larry, Meg and family answered God’s call and accepted the position. They are excited about eventually relocating to San Ramon once they have successfully raised their financial support.

As Campus Director, Larry will be responsible for all of the activities at the mission campus. This includes a full time educational support program, a full array of ministry activities and a variety of community programs. There are currently seven professional staff, six support staff, one full time missionary and many short term mission teams throughout the year.

The Morrises plan to raise their support through tax-deductible donations. These can be made directly to FSM, an IRS-sanctioned 501c3 non-profit Christian organization. Their hope is that they will be able to move by fourth quarter 2016 or January 2017. Larry and Meg request that you prayerfully consider partnering with them as they answer God’s call to return to the mission field. They would welcome the opportunity to speak to you or your church or organization to provide more information about FSM and their role as full time missionaries in Costa Rica.
