Mark 16:15 - He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

a Day in the life of a fsm missionary

I have led teams from Chapin UMC to FSM – San Ramon for five consecutive years beginning with 2010. FSM is a fantastic host organization and always makes us feel welcome.

Typically, teams arrive on the weekend and settle into their activities for the week on Monday. If the teams travel to the mission on Saturday, they are able to take part in a church service with the community on Sunday. In Costa Rica, mission teams and volunteers are able to choose from a variety of daytime projects to work on. Teams most commonly choose to do vacation bible school, youth activities, construction projects in the community, or onsite mission projects.

All of our teams are welcome to participate in our weekly ministry activities (see schedule here). Our most popular ministry events with teams have been things like cooking out with the men’s group, hosting a dinner for the women’s group after taking part in their ministry time for the evening, doing a special youth worship and message with the teenagers, and sitting in on our smaller tween boys and girls groups. These are all evening ministry events. Teams also have the opportunity to serve the children a year after Sunday School.

Are you ready to have your life changed by a mission trip?

The week at Faithful Servant Missions was one of the most meaningful events of my life, if not the most. I found myself thinking and saying repeatedly that what you accomplished in a short time in that small place on our beautiful earth was unbelievable.
