Un Año para Recordar

Este año ha sido especial. De esos años que uno no se olvida fácil. Hemos vivido muchas cosas lindas como grupo de Jóvenes, y sentimos que Dios ha estado guiando cada paso.
Una de las experiencias más fuertes fue algo que llamamos Olimpiadas. Fue más que una actividad, fue un encuentro espiritual donde participaron más de 25 chicos. Estuvimos todo un fin de semana juntos, desde el sábado hasta el domingo en la noche. Fueron dos días intensos, llenos de juegos, risas, momentos con Dios, y tiempos donde más de uno terminó con el corazón conmovido.
Hubo momentos para competir, pero también momentos para escuchar la voz de Dios. Muchos salieron de ahí con un pensamiento diferente, entendiendo quiénes son en realidad y dejando que el Espíritu Santo trabaje en sus vidas. Fue muy especial.
Pero más allá de lo que pasó ahí, ese fin de semana también marcó el cierre de una etapa para algunos. Hay chicos que ya están creciendo, que han caminado un buen rato con nosotros y ahora se están acercando a una nueva etapa en su vida. Y aunque nos da un poquito de nostalgia, también nos alegra ver lo que Dios está haciendo.
Lo más bonito es que, mientras unos se preparan para dar el siguiente paso, Dios está trayendo nuevos chicos. Están llegando varios de 11 y 12 años, llenos de energía, con ganas de aprender, de jugar, de conocer a Dios y de hacer amigos. Y nos alegra mucho ver cómo los más grandes los están recibiendo con amor, haciéndolos sentir parte, cuidándolos, orando por ellos.
Porque eso es lo que buscamos en SOI: que todos se sientan en casa. Que sepan que aquí no hay favoritos, que aquí no importa si acabás de llegar o si llevás años, lo importante es que Dios te ama y nosotros también.
A nivel de crecimiento del staff de Jóvenes, este año ha sido clave. Se abrió una nueva oportunidad de servir y crecer al formar parte del equipo de apoyo en La Montaña Christian Camps. Cada vez que se puede, nuestros líderes están viajando para servir a cientos de jóvenes en diferentes campamentos. Ahí están aprendiendo juegos nuevos, dinámicas, formas de trabajar en equipo… pero sobre todo están creciendo espiritualmente, siendo desafiados y fortaleciendo su liderazgo. Todo lo que están viviendo allá también enriquece lo que hacemos aquí. Ha sido un tiempo de mucho aprendizaje y de ver que Dios también trabaja con los que están sirviendo.
Solo queríamos compartir un poco de lo que ha sido este año. No ha sido perfecto, pero sí ha estado lleno de momentos donde Dios ha hablado, ha abrazado y ha mostrado su amor.
Y sabemos que si Él hizo esto en unos meses… lo que viene va a ser todavía mejor.
A Year to Remember
This year has been special. One of those years you don't easily forget. We've experienced many wonderful things as a youth group, and we feel like God has been guiding every step of the way.
One of the most powerful experiences was something we called the Olympics. It was more than an activity; it was a spiritual gathering attended by more than 25 youth. We spent an entire weekend together, two intense days filled with games, laughter, and time with God. Our hearts were moved.
There were moments of competition, but also moments of listening to God's voice. Many left with a different outlook, understanding who they really are and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their lives. It was very special.
But beyond what happened there, that weekend also marked the end of a chapter for some. There are kids who are already growing up, who have been with us for a while, and are now approaching a new stage in their lives. And although it makes us a little nostalgic, we're also happy to see how God is growing and moving them.
The most beautiful thing is that, while some are preparing to take the next step, new children are just beginning. Several 11 and 12-year-olds are arriving, full of energy, eager to learn, play, get to know God, and make friends. And we are so proud to see how the older ones are welcoming them with love, making them feel part of it, caring for them, and praying for them.
Because that's what we strive for—for everyone to feel at home. They should know that there are no favorites here. It doesn't matter if you've just arrived or have been here for years. The important thing is that God loves you, and so do we.
In terms of youth staff growth, this year has been key. A new opportunity to serve and grow opened up by being part of the support team at La Montaña Christian Camps. Whenever possible, our leaders travel to serve hundreds of young people at different camps. There, they are learning new games, dynamics, and ways of working as a team. But above all, they are growing spiritually, being challenged, and strengthening their leadership. Everything they are experiencing there also enriches what we do here. It has been a time of great learning and of seeing that God also works with those they are serving.
Like any year, this one hasn't been perfect, but it has been full of moments where God has spoken, embraced, and shown His love.
And we know that if He did this in just a few months, we can’t wait to see what's coming next!
