Cheryl Bradford – President
Cheryl is a founding member of FSM and is very active in the day to day running of the organization. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a Master’s degree in Social Work and is a licensed clinical social worker. During her career, she specialized in the medical field, working in both hospitals and home health care. Cheryl participates in many church outreach and mission programs and is a member of Beach United Methodist Church.
Catherine Duffy – Vice President
Catherine is a founding member of FSM and serves currently as our vice president. She is recently retired from a distinguished career as a health care executive in Nashville, TN. Her passion is for the women of Bajo in Costa Rica, she coordinates the women’s Christmas parties and works with the women’s sewing ministry, in addition to her board responsibilities.
Ashley Davis - secretary
Ashley has been involved with missions through her church since her high school days in student ministry. After taking several trips to Costa Rica and seeing the work that FSM was doing there, she became committed to loving and serving the people of Bajo Tejares. In 2012, Ashley and her husband Andrew moved to Costa Rica to serve as full time missionaries with FSM. After an incredible 18 month experience there, they returned to the US to start a family. In August 2015, their baby girl Ruth was born and welcomed into the FSM family as the newest and tiniest missionary on our team!
Al McCulloch - Treasurer
During a career in banking and real estate finance, Al volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in the Jacksonville, Florida area, and was involved through the United Methodist Church with disaster relief and mission projects in The Bahamas. In retirement, Al not only continues to help build houses with Nassau County Habitat for Humanity, but also enjoys the opportunity to apply his experience and spiritual gifts to advance the vision of Faithful Servant Missions to improve the physical, spiritual, and educational health of those we serve in Costa Rica and Panama.
gary tiller - director
Gary and his wife Susan have been beaches residents for 30 years. They have raised two daughters in the community and now have two grandchildren in Jacksonville Beach schools. His and Susan’s hearts have led them to volunteer throughout our beaches community at BEAM, Beaches Community Kitchen, Sulzbacher and Mission House, among others. It was only natural for God to lead them to the issues of elder care and senior concerns at Beaches Council on Aging and Dial-A-Ride. Following a thirty year career in sales and marketing, Gary served seven years as the ministry executive at Beach Church, where both he and Susan serve actively today. Gary holds a business degree (B.S.) from the University of Tennessee and a Masters (M.A.) from Southeastern University.
Wayne Moss - director
Wayne was raised in the United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida, and was active in the United Methodist Youth Fellowship. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida, and then moved to St. Louis, Missouri to work in the chemical industry. While there, Wayne earned master’s degrees in both chemical engineering and business administration. Wayne and Debbi moved to South Carolina in 1986 and continue to reside there. Over the last 25 years in South Carolina, Wayne has volunteered in student ministry and led several student-based mission trips to FSM Costa Rica.
Scott ruschak - director
Scott has a passion for proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed to the poor and marginalized. He has worked fourteen years in U.S. and international non-profits, where he gained experience in program development, grant writing, and monitoring and evaluation. He is bilingual (English/Spanish) and has traveled extensively in Latin America and Africa with MAP International to assess community health and development projects. He holds master's degrees in international public health (University of Alabama-Birmingham) and missions/intercultural studies (Wheaton College), as well as training in non-profit administration (Duke University). He currently works as a grant writer for a community health center that reaches the underserved and resides in the Denver, Colorado, area with his wife and 3 children, where they attend Cornerstone Church. In his spare time, he can be found skiing, hiking, drinking good coffee, and watching English soccer.
Sally WilbeR - director
Sally is a native of Jacksonville, a former executive in the real estate and property management field for over 25 years and actively involved with international missions and child advocacy with Compassion International since 2010. She is currently in full time ministry on staff at The Church of Eleven22. After her brother, Mickey Freeman, a former missionary with Faithful Servant Missions, passed away in 2015, she made several trips to Costa Rica with her family and is called to continue his legacy of love for the people of Bajo Tejares.
Andrew Davis - director & fiscal
Andrew took his first trip to Bajo Tejares in December 2010 for the annual Christmas parties. After two more trips down to Costa Rica, he and his wife Ashley decided to commit to a longer term mission experience. In 2012, Andrew and his wife Ashley moved to Costa Rica to serve as full time missionaries with FSM. After returning to the US, Andrew and his family have committed to making trips back to Costa Rica every year to continue investing in the friendships that they have made there. Andrew is a 2007 graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and is currently the operations manager for a local roofing company.
Donald Durant - director
Donnie and his family have been serving on mission trips to FSM since 2010 and loving on the kids and families of the Bajo Tejares. He has led several mission trips to FSM in Costa Rica and trips with his church to Cabo, Mexico. Donnie and his family live in Chapin, SC and attend Chapin UMC where he and his wife have volunteered with the youth program for over six years. Currently, Donnie is self-employed with Receivable Solutions Inc. He and his beautiful wife Deanae have four children - Thomas, Kara, Ryan, and Zach.
larry morris - ex-officio director
Larry arrived in Costa Rica along with his family in January 2017 to assume the role of Campus Director at the Centro Comunidad Cristiana in Bajo Tejares. His prior experience in Christian non-profit work, including discipleship and community development, stretches over 26 years and has included service opportunities with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Latin America Mission Project, and MAP International. Larry and his wife, Meg, previously served for the better part of two years in both Costa Rica and Honduras. They have three children, Molly (15), Lawson (13), and Logan (10), and live in the nearby community of Esquipulas.
